The Toronto Dance Community Love-In is holding an open call for artists to participate in the second iteration of Practice Lab – an opportunity to develop and share your practice with others, and to experiment your wildest ideas with curiosity and care!

Practice Lab can be: a class, a workshop, a creative session, a meditation, a discussion… An offering that is movement based in concept and can integrate other art forms in practice.

Each selected artist will be offered 4 sessions over the course of a week to develop their Practice Lab, which will include:

Monday & Wednesday 10am-11:30am EST
Friday 6pm-7:30pm EST
Sunday 1pm-2:30 pm EST
*Applicants must be available for all 4 days and times stated.

This years Practice Lab dates are:
March 1st – 7th *ONLINE
April 5th – 11th *ONLINE
May 3rd – 9th *ONLINE
May 31st – June 7th *ONLINE

All sessions will take place online over Zoom. It may be possible for Practice Lab artists to facilitate on their own from a studio of our partner organization, The Railpath Arts Centre, located at 35 Golden Ave, Toronto. This is a wheelchair accessible building with gender neutral washrooms on the ground floor.

The Love-In strives to create equitable environments in all our programming. We integrate anti-oppressive practices into all levels of our collective work. The Love-In continues to unpack our complicity in white supremacy, colonial, and capitalistic structures. We are committed to our continual education, and, to having a real impact on social justice and radical change. Our organization can be counted on to continuously elevate, engage, be accountable to, and take the lead from the voices of Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, Trans, Deaf, and Disabled community members we collaborate with. We have an evolving Community Access program which upholds equity, accessibility, and anti-racism work. These values are implemented in our programming.
