The Love-In is a not-for-profit artist-run dance organization based in Tkaronto. The organization is nomadic, hosting an array of programming including workshops, performances, facilitated talks, collective practices & a summer festival in various spaces across the city. The Lovers are currently looking to expand their core team, prioritizing applications from equity-seeking groups, including those who identify as: Indigenous, Black, People of Colour, Trans, Nonbinary, Queer, Disabled and intersections of those identities.

Position Available: “Lover” 
A Lover operates like an Artistic Director. We each take leadership roles on projects (ie Grant Writing, Programming, Outreach) but share decision making overall. A Lover is committed to upholding the Love-In mission; to provide spaces for respect, generosity and LOVE. Our programs are ever changing in response to the needs of the contemporary dance community. A Lover is therefore responsible for having an interest in what is current, and asking the question: who is making what, now?

Role Description 
Part-time (30 – 40 hours per month)
Paid ($25/hr)
Start by attending regular meetings and work closely alongside the core team which currently includes 5 members, to integrate and learn as you go!

Terms of Contract 
Open ended with minimum of 1 year commitment (Jan 2021-Dec 2021) 
A Lover can choose to take time off to allow for independent contract work.

Responsibilities 
Attend weekly team meetings 
Part-time availability (start at 7 – 10 hours a week) 

Eligibility
Must be 18+ and live in Tkaronto (Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area)

General Duties and Expectations
The Love-In works and operates against hierarchical structures. We operate on the basis of a collective model, which means we teach and support one another throughout our work. It is a place to grow, to enter with your own personal history and skill set and to gain knowledge in areas of interest. For new team members, we allow time to observe, learn and discover. We abide by simple principles; to respect one another and to always be open to new ideas. The style and flow of work is shaped by the people who make up the team and the ways in which they feel comfortable working together. We are a company collaborator at Generator, providing us with excellent external resources, workshops, networking opportunities, and one-on-one coaching sessions. We are additionally governed by a board of directors.

The Love-In strives to be an inviting and welcoming place of work. We integrate anti-oppressive practices into our collective working model as we continue to understand our complicity in white supremacy, colonial and capitalistic structures. Lovers are committed to radical change, to amplifying the voices of Black and Indigenous people, and to our ongoing education of social justice. We have an evolving Community Access program which upholds equity and respect and is implemented in all of our programming. By expanding our team we hope to further  understand the ways in which we can serve our community.
